Tour Overview

The 6-day Machame Route on Kilimanjaro, also known as the "Whiskey" route, is indeed renowned for its challenging nature. This route is highly regarded as one of the most scenic options for climbing the mountain and is the second most popular route chosen by climbers.
Throughout the Machame Route journey, climbers will spend their nights in tents, with meals typically served in a dinner tent or outdoors on a blanket. The route spans over 6 days, allowing for better acclimatization and contributing to a relatively high success rate among climbers.
Due to its challenging terrain and elevation gain, the Machame Route is recommended for physically fit individuals with some prior hiking experience. The descent typically follows the Mweka trail, with the final night spent at either the Mweka or Millennium camp on the mountain.
