Mount Kilimanjaro stands as the world's highest free-standing mountain, earning the moniker "Roof of Africa." Rising majestically in Tanzania, it reaches a towering height of 19,341 feet (5,895 meters) and boasts three distinct volcanic cones: Kibo peak, Mawenzi peak, and Shira peak.
Among them, Kibo reigns as the loftiest summit, towering above at 16,983 feet (5,149 meters), followed by Mawenzi at 16,893 feet (5,149 meters) and Shira at 13,000 feet (3,962 meters). Both Mawenzi and Shira are ancient volcanoes, long extinct, while Kibo, though dormant, retains the potential for future eruptions, despite its last significant activity dating back thousands of years.
