Mount Meru is the fifth highest mountain on the African continent and the second highest mountain in Tanzania Mount Meru is an active volcano of 4566 meters about 70 kilometers west of Mount Kilimanjaro. It is an excellent acclimatization trip to prepare to climb Mount Kilimanjaro.
